Osama Rasaa is a bilingual Yemeni lawyer recognized and ranked by leading international legal directories, including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. He has extensive experience advising international clients on complex legal and commercial matters in Yemen. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution and arbitration, employment and labour matters, telecommunications, banking, maritime law, and the oil and gas sector.

Osama holds an LLB and an LLM from Swansea University in Wales, United Kingdom. His international legal experience includes being selected for the United Nations–Nippon Foundation Fellowship Programme in 2011, through which he conducted research in Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea at Ghent University in Belgium. In 2012, he continued his fellowship with the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS), Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations in New York.

Osama began his legal career at Yemen’s Ministry of Legal Affairs, where he worked on international arbitration proceedings involving the Government of Yemen and foreign investors under the ICC, UNCITRAL and ICSID frameworks. This experience provided him with early exposure to complex cross-border disputes and international investment matters.

In private practice, Osama advises multinational companies, financial institutions, investors and other international clients on doing business in Yemen, including corporate structuring, commercial contracts, regulatory matters, agency and distribution arrangements, employment issues and dispute resolution. He also represents and advises clients in complex commercial disputes and arbitration matters, with particular experience in matters involving the oil and gas sector.

His practice combines international legal experience with an in-depth understanding of Yemen’s legal, regulatory and commercial environment, enabling him to provide clients with practical and commercially focused advice on navigating complex matters in the country.
