Yemen Mass Deregistration of Commercial Agencies – A Rare Window to Restructure Agency Arrangements

A recent ministerial decision issued by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment in Sanaa marks asignificant and unprecedented development in Yemen’s commercial agency sector. The decision resulted in the deregistration of commercial agencies that had not been renewed for three consecutive years. Prior to issuing the decision, the Ministry granted affected agents a 90-day grace period to renew expired registrations through a public notice published in an official newspaper on 5 October 2024.
